I decided to do a bit more map work while planning out what mechanics i wanted to implement. As displayed by the image above you can see that i had finally textured the base of the map, creating grass and dirt in areas while also adding multiple different types of foliage.


Since this is an open world game, optimisation is important and large amounts of foliage are needed to create a beautiful world. However to combat this, i would adjust the cull distance so that the player would only be able to see it at a select range. This as a result would be less harsh on the PC/platform running the game at the time while also making it much more playable because of crashing being last frequent and frames actually staying at 60 instead of being stuck at 10-20.


As you know, this game is heavily inspired by the movement of Spider-Man PS4 and the Devil May Cry games so i wanted to think how i would do all that, but before i did i had to do some preparation work, this would be to find an animation pack that would allow me to not only create my own unique style of movement for the player but to also animate the combos and unique movement styles such as wall running etc
