This week i had started on the combat system for my game. I mentioned in my project proposal that my game had a fixation on Devil May Cry like combat and while not complete and not as in depth, i have completed the very first combo string which is a simple 5 hit chain. The player simply can spam the first mouse button to hack and slash and the enemy does not react yet but later will once i program his AI.
Of course the player can only do these attack if the weapon is equipped otherwise nothing will happen. I had used "Franks Slash Pack" from the unreal store to acquire and use these animations before using anim skeleton notifiers to create sleek particle effects and trails to add spice to the animation, make it stand out and look a lot more flashy which is what the DMC (Devil May Cry) series is all about.
